Denmark's only special museum dedicated to the process behind a work of art is located in Køge.

Køge Art Museum of Sketches holds a wide range of sketches and preparatory studies for finished works of art providing a unique insight into the working processes.

A large number of galleries in the region, in both towns and countryside, stage exhibitions with changing artists. In the north is Portalen in Greve which holds three galleries showing varying exhibitions. It is also in Greve that you will find Greve Museum, an untraditional
museum of cultural history which has a permanent art exhibition.

In Køge you will find the galleries Åhuset and Bødkergården.
