The area appears as a large lake bordered by tall cliffs with interesting geological deposits and plateaus with a disinctive flora. The area has been designated as a national geological conservation spot.

The old lime quarry has become a recreational area with steep slopes and a deep lake where the water is so clear that you can see the bottom.

The lime quarry is a lovely, peaceful site for a walk and a good place for active children. If you bring a hammer and chisel, you could try and find fossils.
