In Solrød is Karlstrup Lime Quarry, no longer in use but now a splendid recreational area with opportunities for walking along its steep slopes and a deep lake with the clearest blue water. Bring a hammer and chisel if you want to look for fossils.

Beautiful moorland

Digging activities in Dyndet near Borup did not result in lime, but peat. This is also an area that has been allowed to develop in peace, and today it is one of nature's gems with a rich fauna and flora and a small bathing lake.
