City breaks in Køge

Køge is noted for great shopping in a cosy setting with a well organised shopping scene including shops for every taste.

A large number of specialist shops are located round the Market Square and in the adjoining streets. As an extra attraction, several of the shops are hiding behind the house fronts in the old city centre.

In the heart of  Køge is Denmark’s largest market square outside Copenhagen, providing the setting for cosy market trade on Wednesdays and Saturdays. After some pleasant shopping in the Market Square on Saturdays, you can go on to the courtyards (in spring and summer), attracted by the tunes of jazz to enjoy with great beer from Køge’s own brewery, Braunstein or other micro breweries.
