Christmas in Køge

Christmas in Køge

Køge is Christmas town

The old medieval town is a beautiful sight when the Christmas lighting is turned on. That happens at the same time as the huge Christmas tree on the Market Square has its lights turned on by Santa Claus himself.

Yum yum... Christmas delicacies!

If you need warmth, you will find small huts around town selling negus and Danish doughnuts as well as coffee and hot chocolate. Doughnuts are also served both at Christmas and throughout the year at the excursion café Malerklemmen, west of Køge. Visit the cosy premises where blue Danish coffee pots adorn the walls.

In the immeditate neighbourhood is Mosehuset grocery shop. Here you can find elves and Christmas sweets galore, and should you be hungry, visit the Pancake House in the garden, where freshly made pancakes are served with various savoury fillings.

Do you wish to take home, pay Fru Hansens Chokolade or Kaffekrukken a visit. Here you will find delicious treat for your Christmas table.

Christmas ship from Bornholm

A host of Christmas delicacies are also the main feature of the Christmas ship from Bornholm visiting Køge Harbour every year at Christmas. Here, Bornholm food producers and artist craftsmen ask you in for their Christmas market. If  you are looking for delicacies or unique crafts from the Sunshine Island, a visit to the Christmas ship is consequently a must!

Christmas church concerts

At Christmas time, the churches in the Køge Bay region invite you to concerts, usually with free admission. Enjoy the good music in the Christmas decorated churches with their great atmosphere. For dates and hours, check with VisitKøge or direct with the churches.
