Ringsted Christmas Market

In 2025, the Christmas market will take place on December 13th and 14th, and it will be a weekend filled with Christmas coziness, festive activities, and a wide range of exhibitors. The Christmas market will be held in a large circus tent in front of the lawn at Sct. Bendts Church, on the Square, and on the Marketplace opposite, where stalls, food, and entertainment will create a unique atmosphere. There will be Christmas activities for both young and old, including a Christmas carousel, a Christmas tram, and the opportunity to enjoy delicious Christmas food such as mulled wine, Danish "æbleskiver" (apple slices), and roast pork sandwiches.

The Ringsted City Council has provided a grant to develop the Christmas market in 2025 and 2026.

"I am incredibly pleased that we in Ringsted can present a new, large, and ambitious Christmas market, which we believe will become a fantastic tradition for both our citizens and visitors. With a grant of DKK 200,000 annually in 2025 and 2026, this is an important investment in supporting the city's commercial life and creating a lively and festive atmosphere in December. The City Council looks forward to making Ringsted an even more attractive place to visit during the Christmas season and bringing people from near and far together for an unforgettable Christmas experience," says Klaus Hansen, Mayor of Ringsted.

In Ringsted, it is Oplev Ringsted, the municipality’s event secretariat, that coordinates the Christmas market.

"We are incredibly excited to collaborate with PSE Musicon to bring a large and atmospheric Christmas market to Ringsted. Our goal is to create an event that brings together both the city’s residents and visitors from the surrounding areas, while also boosting Ringsted’s commercial life during the Christmas period. This is a fantastic opportunity to create a gathering point for Christmas coziness and shopping in the city center," says Lars Månsson Sloth from Oplev Ringsted.

The Christmas market is the result of close cooperation between Oplev Ringsted, Visit Ringsted, and PSE Musicon. The goal is to involve as many local actors and collaborations as possible in the Christmas market and to work closely with Ringsted City and the city’s commercial life. The experiences from the Roskilde Christmas Market, which PSE Musicon helped establish, provide a solid foundation for creating a successful event that attracts both large and small exhibitors and a broad audience.

The aim and hope is to attract up to 10,000 visitors already in 2025. This figure is based on PSE Musicon’s experience from other cities:

"We have extensive experience in creating a well-attended Christmas market, and we look forward to bringing the same magic to Ringsted. Together with local actors and a large network of exhibitors, we are confident that we can create a Christmas market that will become an annual tradition for both locals and visitors," says Peter Wallbohm Olsen from PSE Musicon.

The new Christmas market will not only be a feast for the eyes but also an opportunity to support small artisans and vendors who will offer a wide range of Christmas decorations, delicacies, gifts, and much more. The goal is to create a festive and cozy atmosphere that extends beyond the market itself, also including local cafes, shops, and restaurants.
